PTA To Host Town Hall Meeting

On Wednesday, November 28th, the Garden City PTA is hosting a “Town Hall Meeting” with Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Robert Feirsen. This event will begin at 7:30 pm in the Garden City High School library, immediately following the scheduled general PTA meeting at 7:00 pm. All parents and residents are invited to attend.

The PTA will begin its general meeting at 7:00 pm with reports from the President, Treasurer, and Nominating Committee chair. During this meeting, PTA members will have an opportunity to elect representatives to the nominating committee, which will convene in February 2008 to evaluate candidates for PTA officer and/or director positions for the 2008-2009 school year. In addition, PTA and SEPTA membership representatives will be available to accept dues payments ($10.00 each) for the current school year.

The Town Hall Meeting, entitled Building Our Youth for the Future, begins at 7:30 pm with a brief review of some district goals and initiatives by Dr. Feirsen, and will continue with questions submitted that night from the audience. The question and answer period will be moderated by PTA President, Angela Heineman. This forum is an opportunity for all parents and residents to ask questions and gather information on a variety of topics related to our programs, facilities, and future educational needs. For additional information, please call Angela Heineman at 248-4686.
