PTA Helps Create Beauty In The Locust School Garden

This winter at Locust the Discovery Garden Committee along with parents of the PTA have been working with the children during the inclement weather program to make fun thematic crafts to decorate our garden and outside of the building.  In January the children made sparkling snowflakes in grades K and 1st.  The Kindergartners worked on decorating hearts for Valentine’s Day and the 1st graders are getting ready to make shamrocks for next month’s decorating project.  While the children have been indoors for most of this cold and snow-filled winter these crafts have been a fun activity to look forward to.  The Locust PTA would like to give a special thanks to Kristina Dalton-Vafeades, Maria Papachristos and Debbie Brandeweide for running the committee with so much innovation.  The children are very happy and proud of their contributions to the garden.
