On August 6, PO Stolz noticed a suspicious person exiting a house on Washington Avenue and later arrested a 51-year-old Hempstead man for burglarizing the residence there. The man had taken a $175 Black and Decker case with tools… On August 1 , between 11:30 and midnight, some beer cans were thrown at a house on Roxbury Road. $225 in damage… Between August 7 and 8, unknown persons damaged a light fixture and flowers at the Wyndham condominiums. $230 in damage… Between August 3 and 4, a $300 Trek mountain bike was taken from an unlocked garage on Willow Street… On August 4, someone entered a Hampton Road residence through a rear window and stole approximately $75,000 in jewelry and a silver tea set, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. that day… A car radio was stolen from a 1994 Chevy Suburban parked in Field 2 S between August 3 and 4… Two Coach wallets , both containing personal papers and credit cards, one containing $155, were taken from an unlocked car parked on Hilton Avenue, on the morning of August 4… On August 6 , 5:45 p.m., a Coach bag containing a cell phone, $240, gift cards, and personal papers, left in an unattended shopping cart at Key Food, Field 7 N, was stolen… PO Hickey arrested a 30-year-old Hicksville man for alleged DWI (refusal), aggravated unlicensed operation, felony suspended license, no insurance, and the failure to stay in a lane, at Clinton Rd., on August 6… Between July 26 and August 3, someone stole a Sawsall and a $400 bicycle from a garage on Clinton Rd…. The rear window of a Mercury parked in Field 6 E was found broken, between August 2 and 3… PO Stolz observed a suspicious car at Field 2 S at 8:52 a.m. on August 8, and later arrested a 53-year-old Oceanside man and a 44-year-old Hempstead woman. The woman was charged with the promotion of prostitution and the man was charged with patronizing a prostitute… PO Dallolio arrested a 37-year-old Hempstead man for an outstanding warrant for alcohol in public, at Field 2 S on August 3. The police are conducting extra patrols in Field 2 S…

One residence reported an odor of burning , which turned out to be a computer’s wires and TV wires, caused by the short…A grease fire in a BBQ grill caused alarm at a Wyatt Rd. residence on August 3… On the same day, carbon monoxide was found at an Adams Street residence and the basement was ventilated there until readings returned to normal… A leak in central air conditioning caused alarm at a Washington Avenue residence on August 3… A light fixture causing smoke at the Nassau County PD, was disconnected by the FD on August 4… Wet wood finishing products and rags seem to have spontaneously combusted in a plastic garbage pail outside a Cathedral Avenue residence on August 5 and the FD extinguished the small fire… The FD aided an entrapped person at the scene of a car accident on New Hyde Park Road on August 6…Workmen accidentally activated an alarm at the GC Middle School on August 8…
