In addition to regular traffic enforcement, police are conducting speed enforcements on main thoroughfares throughout the Village. On June 30, July 5 and July 10 police issued 35 speeding tickets with 7 miscellaneous… Between July 10 and 11, someone stole an aluminum foot stool from a lawn at Roxbury Rd… On July 10, a burglary that occurred on June 24, was reported. It seems the front door to a card shop located on Franklin Avenue, was forced open and about $8,000 in prescanned NY State lottery tickets was stolen… Between July 6 and 7, someone broke the rear door window of a restaurant located on Franklin Avenue. Value was $200… A 27-year-old Westbury man was arrested for alleged DWI (.15%) at Stewart Avenue, on July 7. PO Hickey made the arrest… PO Roumeliotis arrested a 21-year-old Hempstead man for alleged speeding on Clinton Rd, on July 8,and for an outstanding warrant from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs enforcement… Between July 6 and 7, someone took a mirror and its housing valued at $500 from a 2005 BMW parked in Field 7 N… PO Bandl arrested a 19-year-old Floral Park female for alleged DWI(.09%) on New Hyde Park Rd., on July 8… A driver and his 2 passengers fortunately only received minor injuries after an SUV being driven by a man hit their car at Old Country Rd./Lefferts Rd., on July 6… Between July 5 and 6, someone took a $400 Razor Motorola cell phone and 2 pairs of sunglasses from a car parked at a Huntington Road residence… PO Rocco arrested a 29-year-old Hempstead woman for aggravated unlicensed operation( 6 suspensions, 4 dates) at Clinton Rd./Brook S, on July 5… PO Hickey stopped a 46-year-old Hempstead man for the failure to stay in a lane at Clinton Rd./Commercial Ave. on July 5 at 5:02 a.m. The motorist was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation second degree (19 suspensions, 4 dates), switched plates, no insurance, and no registration…
