During the month of January, and throughout the year, members of the National Charity League of Garden City volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro.  The Ronald McDonald House Charities program helps families that have a child going through a challenging health journey to experience the feeling of “home.”  NCL participated in the “Treats from the Heart” baking program. The baking program was created with the idea that a home-made baked good could help relieve some stress as many of the families forego this luxury while attending to their sick child. This program also gives families an opportunity to unwind after a day at the hospital and get support from others in a similar situation.

NCL of Garden City’s loves to support the Ronald McDonald House as the mission in helping families in crisis is so important.  For these families to be relieved of the financial burden of hotel accommodations, sleeping in the hospital waiting room, or eating vending machine food, makes an incredible difference to the families we serve. By providing families with the basic essentials, they are able to focus entirely on the health and well-being of their child.
