Wonderful Staff

To The Editor:

I think we are so lucky to have the great library staff we have.

Laura Flanagan and Carolyn Byrne are always helpful. They go out of their way to help you with any reference work you may need, and always with a pleasant demeanor.

They have a wonderful book club, that they put a great deal of work into, and it’s truly a culturally enriching experience.

I’m grateful for all the great workers we have in our Garden City Library.

Vote No

To The Editor:

It’s that magic time again.

The School budget will be voted on and approved.

The Superintendent, the various assistants, the “teachers,” the whole well-oiled apparatus has again done a great job in foisting a bloated budget on the suckers of Garden City.

There seems to be no opposition to this improvident prodigality.

The school board – ha; the gullible parents – ha, ha; the PTA – ha, ha, ha; are being made fools of by the self-serving “education complex.”

Most of the members of this “complex” work for about one hundred and eighty days a year. Their salaries and benefits are obscene. They can’t be fired – it’s called tenure.

Get out and vote against these people and their extravagant concoction.

For our fiscal sake, deny this budget most foul.
