Penny will perform all of the songs from the new CD including “These Days,” which was among the top ten songs played on folk radio for the month of May, 2012. The album, “Colors of the Sun” was a pick of the week on Rich Warren’s folk radio show in May and on the radio in Holland, Portugal, Ireland, Sweden & Germany!
Penny is an old friend of Jackson Browne’s. She was one of the first of the Coral Reeferettes in the Jimmy Buffett band and was nominated for a Grammy 3 years running for her work on albums by Buffett, Art Garfunkle and Arlo Guthrie as a vocal arranger and background singer. After getting a doctorate in music ed. from Harvard, she has gone on to produce a number of beautiful CD’s and is the founding director of SummerSongs ; a non-profit organization for Songwriters that meets twice a year at Ashoken in Olivebridge New York. www.pennynichols.com/
