The GCAA 3rd and 4th grade boys travel basketball teams took part in basketball clinic at the Hofstra University Basketball Practice Facility on February 7. The clinic was organized by the Hofstra Pride men’s basketball coaches and led by four of the team’s players. The boys practiced dribbling skills, shooting and passing, along with solid defense. The instructors spent time explaining the importance of each drill and how practice helped them become the players they are today. Additionally, the coaches and players stressed the need to be good students as well as good athletes.

After the clinic the boys were invited to attend the Hofstra Pride men’s basketball game against Elon University and joined in the team introduction on the court in front of all the Hofstra fans. The event was then capped off by an incredible 102 – 61 victory by the Pride to bring their season record to 21 wins with only 4 losses and the current lead in the Colonial Atlantic Division. The boys had a great time and greatly appreciated the opportunity to train with the Pride and then watch them in action!
