Garden Dept. hears about farm



Garden Dept. member Mary Polak takes care of the Garden Dept. table where members can buy various supplies for flower arranging and other items that catch their eyes. The proceeds from these sales go on to fund Greens Day for the club.

The Garden Department of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead enjoyed a very interesting and informative program for their final presentation of the season. The topic was about the history of Grossman’s Farm in Malverne and also about the need for Organic Farming and it’s importance in our raising and purchasing

Organic food for our health. The farm is still there and growing all Organic produce. Elizabeth Schaefer was the speaker and she is also the Farm Manager for Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s. Everyone left with a good understanding of Organic Farming and it’s effect on their health and their food.
