Colors abounded at the Holi festival

The Garden City Association of Girl Scouts hosted a new, fun and culturally enriching event for all levels of Girl Scouts on Sunday, March 20th at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Girl Scouts of all levels joined in to celebrate Holi.

Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the “Festival of Love,” the “Festival of Colors,” and the “Festival of Spring.” Holi celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love and for many it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh and forget and forgive. The girls learned about the history of the Holi festival, learned an Indian dance from a professional instructor, took home a traditional Indian food and participated in a bright, and festive color war.
