Frank Crosio, Minister of Music

The Garden City Community Church (GCCC) Annual Candlelight Vespers Service will take place on Sunday, December 11th at 4:30 p.m.

The Christmas Candlelight service is a time for GCCC members and friends to gather and celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ.  It will feature seven lessons arranged for choirs by John Rutter, Bob Chilcott, Malcom Archer, and Carson Cooman, as well as a traditional Ukrainian Christmas carol. There will be opportunities for the congregation to join in the singing of familiar Christmas carols.

The music will be presented by the GCCC Adult and Handbell Choirs under the direction of Mr. Frank L. Crosio, GCCC Minister of Music.  Frank joined the staff of GCCC as Minister of Music in September of 2011. He previously held similar positions at the Church of St. Patrick in Huntington, and St. Ignatius Loyola in Hicksville.  He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a degree in Organ Performance and Church Music and holds Colleague (CAGO) Associate (AAGO) and Fellow (FAGO) academic certificates from the American Guild of Organists, as well as the Fellow’s Diploma in organ performance (FTCL) conferred by the International Examination Board of Trinity College, London.

His teachers have included Morton Estrin (piano), Frederick Swann, and Walter Hilse.

Frank has performed in recitals and as a choral accompanist throughout the East Coast and internationally in Canada, Austria, and Germany.

Frank has served as the Dean of the Nassau Chapter of the American Guild of Organists from 1995-1999 and as Dean of the New York City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists from 2006-2010.  At the Community Church he conducts multiple vocal choirs and hand-bell choirs.

The Rev. Lynn Sullivan, Senior Pastor and Mr. Crosio will welcome everyone in this solemn service of Joyful music that have warmed the hearts and spirits through the participation in this time-honored GCCC tradition.

Come and join us in singing the beloved carols, and share a simple meal, hot cider, coffee, tea, and fellowship in the parlor!
