A WORD FROM THE PUBLISHER

A beautiful new tradition

In this week’s issue we feature a story on page 64 about the first annual Garden City Spring Swing.

We really like this article because it highlights the spirit of volunteerism that exists in Garden City. It’s a spirit that brought together groups from throughout the community to provide a memorable time for the children who play in the Challenger League. This event allowed the children to enjoy their abilities, and disregard their disabilities.

The students on the Garden City High School teams who came out to give their time surely will also remember the smiles that they brought to these children, and the good time they helped provide.

Garden City Pizza is also to be commended for providing pizzas to help feed the hungry champions.

While this was only the first time this event has been run, we hope that it becomes an annual tradition. Great idea, beautifully executed.
