On June 25, three United States Marines, Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Bedard, Sergeant Jon McDonald and Sergeant Fred Volz, stationed at the U.S. Marine Corps Base in Garden City, participated in the Third Annual Golf Outing hosted by the Law Offices of David J. Sutton, P.C. at the Cherry Valley Club. The Marines had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq and enjoyed a well deserved day of relaxation. While there were no winners in the $95,000 hole in one contest, Mr. Sutton and his clients made a $1,000 donation to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. For additional information, visit www.semperfifund.org. The Marine Base located on Stewart Avenue is very receptive to invitations from local community organizations. Many of these Marines are from other parts of the United States and are temporarily stationed in Garden City while they await re-deployment in Iraq or Afghanistan.
