Before: In this photo my mother is holding the youngest child, Robert Emmet. He spent five years in the Army in WWII. He had a great large family and died while still active in the NYPD. Next, at the left, front is Terence, who was the life of the party and an executive with Anchor Hocking in New York. Helen married Bill Wall and raised seven children and has resided in California for the pat sixty years. Jim, the writer of this article spent 35 years in the NYFD and retired as a Captain. (Had a few mishaps while on duty but I'm still standing.) Next on my right is Peter, the honoree in the "After" picture below. Behind him, is Jack, the eldest and smartest. While employed full time during the day, he attended CUNY at night and received his ACE and PE degrees. He was a busy man for eight years. The boy on his right was a visiting cousin. 034p1_lg.jpg
