Sarah Meyland to give presentation on status of LI’s aquifers
Ms. Sarah J. Meyland will give a presentation on the status of Long Island’s Aquifers at the Garden City Senior Center on Tuesday, February 21st at 7:30 PM. Ms. Meyland is associate professor in the Department of Environmental Technology and Sustainability in the New York Institute of Technology School of Engineering and Computer Sciences. She has worked as co-executive director of the NYS Legislative Commission on Water Resource Needs of Long Island, and as program coordinator for the Nassau County Planning Federation. She is author of many publications on water-related topics, has developed environmental laws in New York and at the federal level, and has been honored several times for her work.
Ms. Meyland holds a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law, an MS in Water Resources Management from Texas A&M University, a BS in Geological Oceanography, a BS in Marine Biology and a BA in English.
