Free Legal Information Day

As part of its ongoing tradition of community legal assistance -- and in celebration of National Pro Bono Week the Nassau County Bar Association is inviting all Nassau County residents to its Free Legal Information Day to be held on Thursday, October 29, from 3- 6 p.m. at NCBA's headquarters on the corner of 15th Street and West Street in Mineola. Residents have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a volunteer attorney for free legal information and guidance on any topic. Free Legal Information Day is presented in cooperation with Nassau Suffolk Law Services and The Safe Center LI.

Dozens of volunteer attorneys knowledgeable in many areas of law will be available to meet with residents to provide information and refer them for more assistance if needed. Attorneys will not provide legal representation.

Residents are invited to bring their questions about:


*consumer debt

*divorce and family issues

* education and special education

* employment

*health and disabilities


*Medicare and Medicaid

*mortgage foreclosure and housing

*senior citizen issues

*Superstorm Sandy

*veterans' issues

Register for a free individual consultation with an attorney by calling 516- 747-4070. NCBA will also provide bi-lingual attorneys upon request when you call to register. All languages are available, including Spanish, Russian, Haitian Creole, Polish, Greek, Hindi, Urdu and more.
