“Extra, Extra: Read All About It!” Cub Scouts Visit Printing Press!
Do you know how long it takes to print the newspaper you are reading at this moment? Den 6 Cub Scouts of Pack 7 do! It took less than one second to print this copy of the Garden City News! This is just one of many interesting facts the scouts learned when they visited Richner Printing Services in Garden City. The full service printing company prints several publications, including the Garden City News. Kevin Plaut led the tour, starting with a discussion on how reporters gather news that lands in the papers we read. The visit culminated with the grand finale: the tour of the printing press where the boys saw the operating machinery. The cubs and their parents now have a new appreciation of the work that goes into assembling the newspaper we read each week!
