St. Joseph Church Celebrates Unity With Parish Party
The members of the St. Joseph Parish came together recently for a celebration of togetherness and unity during the Thanksgiving season, while recognizing the blessings of many during such difficult times. Chaircouple Peggy and Michael White, with the help of the Parish Party Committee, hosted the celebratory evening at the Garden City Hotel, while dancing the night away to the music of The Kenny Ford Band, of Hank Lane Music. For the first time, the Parish Party included an honoree. Msgr. Brian McNamara, new pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in West Islip, was honored for his many years of service, both before and after his deployment as Military Chaplain, to the parish of St. Joseph. Msgr. Swiader took the opportunity to turn the tables on the regular comedian by opening his remarks with Msgr. Brian’s usual, “So, there was this guy……”. As Mayor Brudie so eloquently pointed out, Msgr. Brian McNamara has been a very good friend to St. Joseph Parish and all of Garden City. Special thanks go to all supporters who rallied during a very difficult two weeks, showing that, during this year of faith, we are “one”. St. Joseph’s Parish wishes all of its supporters, friends and neighbors a Christmas Season filled with peace and joy and the blessings of friends and family.
