Monster’s Kids Holiday Cocktail Party

Join Monster’s Kids for an evening of fine food, open bar and merrymaking to benefit Cohen Children’s Medical Center on Friday, December 7 at 7 PM at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Division of Behavior and Development at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, expanding services for children diagnosed with autism.

Monster’s Kids is an organization that was created in 2009 by Lisa and Tim Goettelmann and their longtime friends, Dan and Kristen Denihan, to better the lives of sick children. Tim, aka “The Monster”, played professional lacrosse for the Long Island Lizards for 11 years and retired this past summer. The idea of Monster’s Kids excites Tim because he is able to take two things that he is passionate about, children and lacrosse, and combine them into a successful charity. In the few years since Monster’s Kids was created, it has raised much-needed funds for the NICU and Child Life Program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

Funds raised during the past year are being used to renovate an important playroom for the young patients, with completion scheduled by December 2012. This room will be dedicated in memory of Garden City defenseman Class of 1994, Ryan Kohart (#34).

The cocktail party will be an exciting “kick-off to the holiday season while benefiting our local children’s hospital and the children we love.
