SENIOR SURVEY HAS BEEN MAILED

The Recreation Department’s Senior Survey has been mailed to seniors in the Village so if you did not receive one and want to participate, please call us at 465- 4075. Thanks to all who have already returned their survey. If you have not done so, please take a minute to answer the questions and mail it back in our return envelope.

SENIOR TRIP FOR SEPTEMBER

On Wednesday, September 12, the Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip to the Merchant Marine Academy for lunch and the Nassau County Museum of Art to visit the Chagall exhibit.

The recreation bus will leave St. Paul’s Senior Center at 10:45 am for the Academy for a delicious luncheon. We will then travel to the museum in Roslyn, where we will see the works of Marc Chagall, the famous 20th century artist. We will then return to our Senior Center after the tour.

The cost of this trip will be $25, payable in cash at the time of registration. To register, please visit our Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.

WESTBURY MANOR SHOW AND LUNCH

Due to the overwhelming response for our last venture, the Recreation Department will sponsor a trip to Westbury Manor for a Plaza Theatrical Production of “La Cage aux Folles” with lunch provided before the show.

This trip will take place on November 7. The recreation bus will leave St. Paul’s Senior Center at 11:30 am. The cost of this trip will be $25. It is open to Garden City resident seniors only. To register for this trip, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Payment must be paid by check made payable to “Plaza Theatrical Productions”.

COMMUNITY PARK’S MINIATURE GOLF COURSE

Affordable family fun is right around the corner, so don’t forget to visit our state
of the art miniature golf course. Our beautiful 18 hole course is located behind the
Garden City Pool and is filled with challenges galore that will delight mini-golfers
of all ages.
We also offer party packages for birthdays or other occasions. Please call Garden City Community Park at 483-2525 for party planning.
The price for a round of mini golf is as follows:
Resident Adult (12 and up) $5.00
Resident Child (under 12) $3.00
Resident Senior (65 or over) $3.00
Nonresident Adult (12 and up) $6.00
Nonresident Child (under 12) $4.00
Our hours are 10 am to 10 pm daily. Come down and try a round!

ST. PAUL’S SENIOR CENTER HOURS

St. Paul's Senior Center is open and again running programs for Seniors to
enjoy! The Center is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Mondays through Fridays, for senior
individuals to either participate in the programs offered or to just sit, relax and
enjoy the setting. During the summer we take it easy so programming is limited
to our exercise program and Bingo. Beginning the week of June 25 and continuing
into late August the schedule will be as follows:
MONDAYS
9:15 am Exercise with Felicia, including stretching to music in
chairs
10:30 am Exercise with Felicia
11:45 am Bingo!
WEDNESDAYS
9:15 am Exercise with Felicia, including stretching to music in
chairs
10:30 am Exercise with Felicia
FRIDAYS
9:15 am Exercise with Felicia, including stretching to music in
chairs
10:30 am Exercise with Felicia
11:30 am Resistance Exercise with bands
*Please note - the week of August 13, all exercise classes will be held in the Senior Center on Golf Club Lane.

Senior Exercise Classes

Co-ed, senior exercise classes on Mondays and Wednesdays... all are welcome!

Classes begin on Monday, September 10th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Ethical Humanist Society, 38 Old Country Road, Garden City

Wear comfortable clothing, sneakers, bring light hand weights, bands.
