GCHS Art Students Included In Art League Exhibit
Congratulations to (left to right) Joanna Abballe, Laura Fanning, Laura Ketigian and Jennifer Laundrie, art students in Shawn Uttendorfer's Advanced Placement art class at Garden City High School, for having work selected to the Art League of Long Island's Go APe art exhibition held from January 12th through February 5th. The four accepted students are pictured here attending the January 15th reception in the Art League's gallery. In its fifth year, the exhibit celebrated the exceptional work of Advanced Placement art students chosen from high schools across Long Island.
Joanna Abballe, whose piece for the show focused on anatomical contortion, commented, "I thought it was really cool to see other student's art work. It really broadened my horizons."
Jennifer Laundrie agreed, stating, "It was really good to see other people's work to gauge where I am so I can push myself harder."
Laura Fanning's self-portrait was accepted to the show. She enjoyed seeing her work hung among the others as well as the "diversity of the artwork from across the Island, and how the show was executed."
