“Winslow Homer” Lecture At Community Club


Popular Artist and Lecturer Dan Christoffel Popular Artist and Lecturer Dan Christoffel The Art Department of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead is pleased to announce a re-visit by the populr artist and lecturer Dan Christoffel on Wednesday, March 8, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at the Garden City Casino.

Mr. Christoffel, Adjunct Professor, Artist and sculptor at Adelphi University, whose outdoor sculpture titled “Victory” can be seen on the campus, will present a slide lecture on the work of renowned artist Winslow Homer the beloved artist of the later part of the 19th century. Homer was greatly influenced by the Impressionists Monet and Degas, and loved to paint the sea, especially around Bermuda.

Do come and hear this interesting and gifted speaker and join us for refreshments after the program.

A $5.00 guest fee is payable at the door for non-members.
