Lecture On National Health


Dr. Jane D. Scott Dr. Jane D. Scott The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead is delighted to have Dr. Jane D. Scott as our speaker for the General Meeting on March 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino and all guests are welcome. Dr. Scott will talk about the National Institute of Research Training and Career Development and the improvements in health care the last 50 years. She will provide information on the workings of The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. She will also speak on current ways to train the next generation of cardiovascular scientists and physician - scientists. Dr. Scott joined the National Lung and Blood Institute in 2005. As director for the office of Research Training and Career Development in the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences. The office provides oversight to more than 800 training awards to individuals and institution nationwide to train future cardiovascular scientists. She attended Duke University where she majored in nursing; she earned her Doctor of science in Health Policy and Management from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Scott attended Garden City High School and also sang in the Cathedrals Girls Choir.
