Girls Fencing Team Conference Champions

Christina Tangel fencing Sabre Christina Tangel fencing Sabre The Garden City girls fencing team lead by Coach Michael Kreidman are the Conference I Champs. The team finished their regular season with a 12-2 record, securing their 1st place ranking. The team will now go on to compete for the Nassau County Title Feb 11th hosted by Garden City.

When asked how he felt the team has developed this season, Coach Kreidman responded by saying "We need strong leaders to guide such a large team and this year's seniors have done a tremendous job. They have integrated everyone from brand new middle school athletes to four year starters and made them into something much greater than the team. When asked what is the most memorable part of being a part of this fencing team, the seniors stated "Watching our hard work and sweat pay off at the meets is amazing, but taking all that we have learned physically, mentally and emotionally and passing it on to the underclassman and middle school athletes has been the most rewarding part of being on this team, we become a family." Clearly this style of coaching and mentoring is what has made this team not only a success but something truly special.
