SEPTA Announces "Light It Up Blue" Initiative
The GC Special Education PTA is pleased to announce the launch of our first Light It Up Blue initiative. In the next few weeks, the community will see more information about the project. Highlights include an "Art for Disabilities" contest at the high school that will be used for blue t-shirt sales, encouraging the community to put blue lights up, wear autism awareness pins, and a Light It Up Blue Ladies Day out fundraiser hosted by Salon Beyond.
"Autism touches one in 110 children and there are over 3 million children in the US alone with this disability. Although April is Autism Awareness month, this is a perfect time to raise awareness and support for all of our children in the community that have a disability, not just Autism. We are excited about this endeavor and look forward to working with everyone to Light It Up Blue" said Melanie Donus, Co-President of SEPTA.
