Robert Rudkin On Jan. 21, 2012 Robert (Bob) Rudkin received a Village of Garden City Citation recogizing Bob’s years of service to the Village. Mayor Donald T. Brudie presented the Citation during a private ceremony; present during the ceremony, were Bob’s sons, Robert and Peter, his wife Pauline and Cyril Smith of the American Legion.

Robert is a Garden City resident since 1958. Past Commander of the William Bradford Turner American Legion Post 265, President of the Garden City Assembly, President of the Garden City Swim Club, Head of the Lions Club and advisor to the Garden City Board of Education. Robert served his country in WW II as a Lieutenant in Army Air Force flying a P-51 Mustang Fighter and was POW from Dec. 1944 until liberated in May 1945.

The Rudkin family wishes to thank Mayor Brudie for taking time out of his busy schedule to present this honor upon Bob. He was very pleased and appreciative.
