Re-Elect Nick Episcopia
To the Editor:
I am asking for your support to re-elect Nick Episcopia to the position that he now holds as Village Trustee. I can unequivocally state that Nick has shown himself over the years as a man of integrity whose actions reflect careful consideration of all the residents of Garden City and not just those with deep pockets and big mouths. He has lived in the village for some 38 years with his family and has served on the EPOA board as Vice President and then President from 1989 to 2005. When elected to the position of Village Trustee he served as Fire Commissioner,
Buildings Commissioner, Public Works Commissioner, liaison to the business community and the library board. He also served on the Mayor's committee on St. Paul's, Finance and Compensation Committees, and the Public Information Committee. I don't know of anyone who knows more about the workings of this community or has fought harder to preserve the Garden City lifestyle which we all take for granted. He has tried for years to keep taxes down through tough labor negotiations while keeping a watchful eye on village expenses. He has been at the forefront of many issues which have threatened the tranquility of this community such as the HUB project, the third rail, and the light rail system which would have cut Garden City in half. He deserves our continued support. He's earned it. Polls are open on Jan.31 from 4:30 to 9 P.M. at Stewart School. Please come out and vote.
