Goal Oriented Candidate
To the Editor:
My neighbors and I in the Estates section of Garden City have only two weeks to determine which of the run-off candidates we will vote for to represent us as a Trustee. Allow me to save you some time and share with you the reasons why, after working with Brian Daughney for two years, I will be voting for him.
Brian has been an active force on the Board of Trustees. He is action and goal oriented. By soliciting resident feedback, engaging experts when needed and brokering compromise, he gets things done. So often residents are frustrated by apathetic status quo, but instead, I have observed Brian’s tireless efforts to improve the Village’s processes and steward the Villages assets. What a welcomed change.
As a result of my work on the Citizen’s Budget Review and Advisory Committee, I’ve seen Brian in action, pushing the Village to innovate and think differently, balanced with an appreciation of the historical richness that has made Garden City the place it is. I applaud and support the way he injects private sector discipline and common sense into the municipal madness that we often see in all levels of government.
Running the Village is more than dealing with one single issue, whether it is St. Paul’s or budgets or Public Safety, which is why the way in which Brian makes decisions independently, on behalf of and as a reflection of his constituents is so important.
On January 31st, I will be casting my vote for Brian. Save yourself some time cutting through the rhetoric and join me.
