Daughney Has A Proven Record
To the Editor:
Brian Daughney has a proven record of fiscal responsibility during the two years he has been on the Board of Trustees. Budgets have increased only by 1.7% and .4%. That is far less than the rate of inflation. During the most recent fiscal year, the Village has obtained a $2.2million surplus - fiscal responsibility!
Brian is a strong proponent of working with the Village executive staff to give a fresh look at every department and function to achieve cost savings . Overtime expense has been greatly reduced - fiscal responsibility!
Brian, along with Trustees John DeMaro and Nicolas Episcopia worked to require administrative staff to pay 15% of their health costs, up from zero - fiscal responsibility!
Following the suggestion of the Citizens Budget Committee, Brian insisted that the Village undertake a thorough review of its insurance costs and programs. This review, completed while Brian was a member of the Insurance Review Committee, has resulted in savings of over $250,000 for the Village while enhancing coverage - fiscal responsibility!
More areas of Brian’s fiscal responsibility could be cited., but I think you have the idea now how Brian Daughney listens to residents’ concerns, investigates and then acts on their behalf.
Brian has been a Trustee for only two years, but he has attended Village Budget Sessions as well as Board of Trustee meetings for 7 years. This shows he is “up to the job”. His opponent attends Board of Trustee meetings ONLY when it is about St. Paul’s. She has never attended a Village Budget Session until this past Saturday, and then left early.
I urge all residents in the Estates section, go to Stratford School on Tuesday, January 31st between 4:30 and 9 pm and vote for Brian Daughney. You will be glad you did.
