COMPUTER KINDERGARTEN WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS

There is still time to join our Computer Kindergarten classes. The start date has been changed to Tuesday, July 12 from 9 to 11 am. The classes will meet seven weeks and will cover basic instruction needed to use your computer! The cost of this program is $65. To register, please come to the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.

SUMMER MUSIC ON THE VILLAGE GREEN

The Garden City Recreation will again run its summer concert series at the Gazebo on the Village Green. All concerts will be held on Thursday in July and will begin at

7:15 pm. Bring your own chairs and blankets and come enjoy this free series.

July 14 Manhattan Skyline -
contemporary sounds from the 60s through the 80s
July 21 The Tercels - singing your favorite oldies
July 28 Rag Doll - A tribute to Frankie Valli
And the Four Seasons

In the event of a less than beautiful day(rain), all show will be held indoors at the Cultural and performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall, 295 Stewart Ave.

SENIOR DAY TRIPS ANNOUNCED

Garden City Recreation is pleased to announce our calendar of day trips for the upcoming season. All trips are run in conjunction with Prime Time Travel. Travel to any location is by coach bus and in most cases, lunch or dinner is included in the price. Space is very limited and deposit due dates are strict, so please make your reservations early by visiting the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Please make all checks payable to "Prime Time Travel".

Please note - Travel fees are not refundable unless travel insurance is purchased, so please choose carefully.

Friday, September 9 - Tour of Brooklyn's Greenwood Cemetery

Founded in the late 1800s, this National Historic Landmark is the resting place for Leonard Bernstein, Albert Anastasia, and Louis Comfort Tiffany as well as many other notable people. Our two hour Trolley Tour will take you through this 478 acre treasure and then we will go to Junior's for lunch. This cost of this tour will be $79 and a deposit of $30 is necessary to reserve a seat for this trip.

Remember, all checks should be made payable to "Prime Time Travel".

Please note - Insurance is available on our day trips. Any trip under $99 and under is $7 per person, any trip over $100 is $19 per person. Insurance must be taken out with deposit for any pre-existing condition.

ST. PAUL’S SENIOR CENTER HOURS

St. Paul's Senior Center is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Mondays through Fridays, for senior individuals to enjoy.

Exercise will continue during the summer but programming will stop so our seniors can enjoy the Garden City Pool. Please look for our fall announcements in August. Until then, St. Paul's Senior Center will be open for you to meet with your friends, enjoy a good book or to just sit and relax.

Garden City Retired Men’s Club Calendar Of Events

The Garden City Retired Men’s Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.

All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested in joining us, please stop in. Every Monday is Open House. Or call George Salem at 248-4553.

The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers two regulation size pool tables, television, and cards/table board games, as well as outdoor bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Program Committee is planning a very active speaker program. You are invited to join us!

We meet from noon to 5 p.m.
