December marks the Yuletide season but Monday’s Marvelous Movie Matinées will celebrate Oscar winning performances instead.

On December 6th, Tom Hanks Best Actor performance as Forrest Gump will be shown. This will be followed on December 13th with Olivia de Havilland in the first of her two stellar performances in Hold Back the Dawn . The series will conclude on December 30th with Kitty Foyle , Ginger Rogers’ first dramatic appearance after her many musical roles with Fred Astaire.

Funding for these performances, which begin at 1:30pm, has been provided by The Friends of the Library.
