Enjoying the last days of the G.C. Pool were Doris Forster, Anita Frey, Trudy Anderson, and Betty Pupke, along with Addy Barns. Addy was very active in the G.C. Chamber of Commerce along with Kay Connolly and a great job they did there. It was Kay who started the listing of various events here in the Village and that of course turned into the Calendar of Events. This is still published by the G.C. Chamber of Commerce if I am not mistaken.

It was such good news to read about Michael Balboni, a Garden City lad who grew up here and made good in this world. He did a fine job for all of us while working to better things in New York State and we not only wish him well in his future endeavors, but look forward to hearing him as the Keynote speaker for the Chamber of Commerce at their Kick-Off Luncheon on Sept. 22 nd . Our home town boy will do very well.

It seems that you just can’t please some people. Would you believe that there were folks who were disappointed that the hurricane passed us by. After all, they had made so many preparations for it and it was a nothing. I say, Thank Heavens that it all came to naught as it gave us needed practice in case we get another one as the season isn’t over yet.

Now for your thought for the week. Knowledge has no power until it’s used. See you next week.
