THE NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE THE NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the children’s musical A Year With Frog and Toad. The play will be performed in the Mainstage Theatre October 9, 10, 16 and 17. All performances will be at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for A Year With Frog and Toad cost $7.00 per person and $5.00 for children under 12. College students will be admitted free with a Fall 2010 I.D. GRAFFITI WAS FOUND at the Nassau Blvd. taxi stand on August 25th… PO WEDRA stopped a Miller Place man, age 32, for speeding on August 26th. According to the police, the man also was in possession of cocaine, and was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance… ANOTHER DRUG ARREST was made by police on August 28th after police arrested a 24 year-old Hempstead woman for possession of cocaine on Rockaway Avenue…. PO WEHR arrested a 39 year-old man for various motor vehicle offenses on August 28th. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation because of the six suspensions on his license. He was also charged with driving a car that was unregistered, uninsured and uninspected…

PO OSWALD spotted a Huntington Station man who was allegedly weaving in and out of traffic on August 29th at Clinton Road and Garden Street. The man allegedly had a .15 blood alcohol level, and was charged with DWI as well as unsafe lane change and no insurance… A 19 YEAR-OLD Garden City teen was issued an appearance ticket on August 27th for hosting a loud party…

A NECKLACE was taken from a vehicle at Garden City Community Park on August 29th… SOMEONE DAMAGED light posts at three homes on Brixton Road on August 29th… A 2009 BMW was reported damaged on August 29th. The car had scratches on both sides, the hood and trunk… A GPS WORTH $150 and $5 cash was taken from a car on Willow Street on August 30th…

SMOKE AND BLAZES: THE FIRE REPORT

FIREFIGHTERS RESPONDED to a manhole explosion on South Avenue on August 26th. Power was cut to eight nearby buildings while the situation was investigated… A CARBON MONOX IDE alarm investigation at an Adams Street home on August 26th found a very small amount of CO in the basement of the home, however its source was not found. The homeowners were advised to change the alarm’s batteries, but to call back if it sounded again… A KENMORE ROAD homeowner was locked out of his home on August 27th because he only had a garage door opener for his home and did not have keys. Unfortunately, LIPA had cut power in the area for some maintenance work. The Fire Department found that all of the doors and windows of the home were secured, so they made a request to LIPA to temporarily restore power and let the homeowner back into the house…

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT assisted at a motor vehicle accident on August 30th at Cherry Valley Avenue and 11th Street where fluids were leaking from the cars… A MULBERRY ROAD homeowner needed assistance with a family member’s medical needs on August 30th…

THERE WERE 13 responses to automatic alarms last week. Causes included burnt toast, burnt popcorn, hairspray, a water leak onto a sensor and dust from work being done.
