The Garden City Public Library has added Behind the Wheel Express, a new speed immersion foreign language learning program to its foreign language audio collection. The Behind the Wheel series is available to learn French, Italian, and Spanish. Level One covers beginning to intermediate language lessons and consists of a three CD set combined with a companion workbook in the boxed set. This new audio language program builds a foundation for fluency by combining commonly used vocabulary with an easy to follow sentence building technique.

The Library’s audiobook collection includes over 15 foreign languages as well as English as a second language. Among the audio language courses available are Arabic, Chinese, both Cantonese and Mandarin, Croatian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Yiddish. The easy to use CD courses offer business and pleasure travelers the opportunity to learn a foreign language before departing on their trips. The foreign language audio collection is located on the Library’s lower level in the media center.
