Kiwanis Club Dinner Meeting

The next Kiwanis Club of Garden City Dinner Meeting will be at the Garden City Hotel on Thursday, September 9th at 6:30 pm.    Prospective new members that are interested in giving back to the community are welcome and encouraged to attend to learn more about Kiwanis.

Chartered in 1951 the Kiwanis Club of Garden City sponsors Service Leadership Clubs such as the Key Club at the Garden City High School and Sacred Heart Academy, the Builders Club at the Garden City Middle School and the Circle K Club at Adelphi University.  Kiwanis works throughout the year to support the children of our community. Service projects include sending children to Kamp Kiwanis each summer, supporting local Boy and Girl Scout Troops, cooking hamburgers for the Games for the Physically Challenged each May and a College Scholarship Program that is open to all graduating seniors from Garden City.

Every week volunteers from the Kiwanis Club work with Island Harvest headquartered in Mineola and Bagelman here in Garden City to bring bagels to the Mary Brennan Inn in Hempstead.   Island Harvest is the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island.

Returning from the rest and relaxation of the summer, the Club is now gearing-up for a busy fall with the respective school clubs as well as preparing to help the Garden City Chamber of Commerce on October 23rd at their 31st Annual Fall Festival Street Fair.

Come join us on Thursday to learn what Kiwanis is all about ! Please RSVP to 516-376-0854 or to KiwanisGC@aol.com.
