It’s What’s Happening For Young Adults

Young Adults “made waves” this summer at the Garden City Public Library by participating in the Library’s young adult summer reading club - Make Waves @ Your Library.

Teens enjoyed lunch at the Library on Thursdays as well as book discussions and craft programs. The invitation only Back to School Bash was held on Wednesday, August 18th. All YA’s who participated in YA Summer Reading Club and submitted at least one review or YA’s who volunteered at the Teens and Tots Storytime at the Pool were invited to enjoy an evening of pizza, snacks and fun.

The Young Adult Department at the Library is specifically designed for students in grades 6 -12. The YA collection includes books, audiobooks on CD and Playaways, college guidebooks, and magazines. There are also computers with varied electronic resources to assist students and parents with school assignments as well as with the college search process.

Please check the Library website www.gardencitypl.org for upcoming Fall events and registration dates. Registration can be done through the Calendar of Events on the Library’s website. Funding for YA programs is provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Priority registration is given to young adults, those entering grades 6 through 12 who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
