Winthrop Seeking Volunteers With Chronic Pancreatitis
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Clinical Trials Center and James Grendell, MD, Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, are seeking volunteers who have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis for a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication given by injection.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 80, must have a confirmed diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis, and must have had moderate to severe abdominal pain for at least 6 months. Participation will last up to 3 1/2 months and there is no placebo involved. Eligible participants will receive study-related medications and medical care at no cost to them. Compensation for time and travel may also be available; participants do not need health insurance to participate.
