Miss USA Supports Adelphi Breast Cancer Program
As soon as she returns from the Miss Universe 2010 competition, which will air live on NBC August 23 at 9 p.m. ET from Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Rima Fakih, Miss USA, will design a signature bra for Creative Cups to benefit the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. Creative Cups turns an ordinary bra into a work of art, which will be auctioned off at a fundraiser in March 2011.
“My primary job as Miss USA is to increase awareness and prevention of breast and ovarian cancers. I am excited to use my imagination and do this with Creative Cups in such fun manner. I have so many ideas of what my bra will look like - I don’t know how I am going to be able to design just one,” Fakih said.
Says Hillary Rutter, the director of the Adelphi Program, “We are thrilled that Rima is taking time from her very busy schedule to help our program – we know her contribution will bring much attention to our efforts to help women as they cope with breast cancer.”
All with an interest are invited to participate in the Creative Cups event. Submitted creations must be received by September 15, 2010, to be included in the auction/gala (to be held on March 15, 2011 at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY).
