Clinical Trials Center Seeking Volunteers
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Clinical Trials Center and Bhawna Halwan, MD, Attending Physician from Winthrop’s Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, are seeking volunteers with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome for a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication.
To qualify for the 19-week study, participants must be 18 to 79 years of age, experience moderate to severe pain in the abdomen, and have 28 stools over a seven-day period. Eligible participants will receive medical care with study-related medications at no cost to them and do not need health insurance to participate in the study. Compensation for time and travel may also be available.
