Stay Cool & Read This Summer
The Cathedral of the Incarnation’s Book Club has chosen The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton for summer reading. The story is set in New York City in the 1870s. It centers on an upper class couple’s impending marriage, and the introduction of a woman plagued by scandal whose presence threatens their happiness. The novel is lauded for its accurate portrayal of how the 19th century East Coast American upper class lived. This novel earned Wharton the first Pulitzer Prize awarded to a woman. The next meeting of the group to discuss this book will be in the air-conditioned Christian Formation Room on Monday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. The Christian Formation Room is located in the Cathedral House at 50 Cathedral Avenue. All are welcome to join the group.
