U9 Warriors Finish 2nd In Spring Season

Garden City Warriors with their trophies

Garden City Warriors with their trophies The GC Warriors finished in second place in the National Junior Baseball League’s U9 division with a record of 9 wins and 5 losses.

The Warriors bounced back from 2 opening weekend losses, going 9-3 the rest of the way (including 5 in a row) in the NJBL’s most competitive division for their age group. The boys practiced hard and played smart, and the results certainly showed. The pitching was strong and consistent, their defense was excellent, and the boys all improved at the plate, scoring a total of 87 runs during the season. Most important: the boys are winning and losing with class, and having fun in the process.

The GC Warriors are Mark DiPierro, Patrick Creaven, Billy Duff, Tommy Powderly, John Murphy, Layne Meyer, Evan Jozkowski, Joey Perrini, Garrett Going, Lukas Lambraia, Matt DeSimpliciis, Sean Leggett, Robert Lucano and James McGill. The boys and their coaches want to thank the Warriors’ parents for their support during the season. It takes time and effort getting the boys out for practice and to the games, and they appreciate all you do for them and the team! Congratulations Warriors!
