Miss McCavera’s second grade class celebrated Mother’s Day in their classroom with a brunch and presentation for their special guests. Mothers were treated to muffins made with the help of many generous fathers, a special song and five poems about mothers and how special they are. Each child decorated a paper watering can with flower seeds tucked inside. Each mother also received a homemade corsage and a coupon book to redeem for some help around the house.

The children had spent many weeks preparing for this special morning. They worked an oral presentation of poems with correct pronunciation and expression. They wrote descriptive words and phrases pertaining to their mothers. They put these on special flowers that they displayed in the classroom. With all their preparation and hard work, the students gave their mothers the gift of a wonderful morning together.
