The public is welcome to visit an expanded version of last summer’s well-received “Military History and Heritage” exhibit at the Garden City Public Library. The exhibit will be featured in the library’s downstairs gallery until August 24.

Garden City residents Cyril Smith, Michael Brosnan and William Bellmer expanded the exhibit this year to include Country Life Press/Doubleday vintage photos which commemorate the centennial of the building’s construction in 1910. The exhibit also includes a treasure trove of Garden City photos and memorabilia dating back to the Civil War through the current war in Iraq.

Photos taken by Stratford School teacher Richard Madden and his Quest students as part of their centennial commemoration this year are featured in the expanded exhibit.
