Guessing Game Winners!

Congratulations to the winner of our third week Guessing Game, third grader Timmy Ryan! There were 182 surfing necklaces in the jar and Timmy guessed 183, making him the closest guess this week! Each week there is a new guessing game. Residents up through Grade 5 are encouraged to guess the number of items in the jar. The child with the closest guess wins! Congratulations again to Timmy Ryan and thanks to all who participated in the game!

Raffle Winners!

Members of the Summer Reading Club can fill out and submit mini-review cards. Each week, a staff member will pull 20 cards from a box containing review cards from children entering Grades K-2 and 20 cards from a box containing review cards from children entering Grades 3-5. For the first week, the winners all got kaleidoscopes.

Sea Creations with Liane

Join us at the Library and make some wonderful Sea Creations with Liane! This fun program will be held on Tuesday, July 27 at 1:00PM for children Grades K-2 and 2:30PM for children Grades 3-5. Registration is required and began on Monday, July 19 on Eventkeeper. This program is limited to Garden City residents only.

Frog Creations with

Donna Green of A Time For Kids

Come to the Library and join us for Frog Creations, featuring Donna Green of A Time For Kids! This program will be held on Tuesday, July 27 at 9:45AM or 11:00AM and is for children ages 2 1/2-5 with an adult. Registration is required and began Monday, July 19 on Eventkeeper. This program is limited to Garden City residents only.

Family Movie Night - Tooth Fairy!

Join us on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00PM for our second Family Movie Night of the summer! We will be showing the movie Tooth Fairy. This program is open to all ages, but is limited to Garden City residents only. No registration is required.

Strummin’ and Drummin with Matt

All children registered for the Little Swimmer Summer Read-to-Me Club who meet the requirements of the club are invited to attend the End of the Summer Show, Strummin’ and Drummin’ with Matt. The show will be held on Tuesday, August 3 at 11:00AM. Children ages 2 1/2-5 who are interested in attending the show can register for the Little Swimmers Read-to-Me Club in the Children’s Room.

The Make-a-Splash Reading Show

Children registered for the Deep Sea Divers Summer Reading Club who meet the requirements of the club are invited to attend the Make-a-Splash Reading Show with David Rosenberg. The show will be held Wednesday, August 4 at 7:00PM. Children entering Grades K-5 in September who are interested in attending the show can register for the Deep Sea Divers Club in the Children’s Room.

Summer Reading Club

Registration for the Summer Reading continues in the Children’s Room. Registration for the Little Swimmers Read-to-Me Club for children ages 2 1/2-5 (not entering Kindergarten in September 2010) ends Monday, August 2 at 9:00PM while registration for the Deep Sea Divers Reading Club for children entering Grades K-5 in September ends Tuesday, August 3 at 9:00PM. Summer Storytimes

The Final Summer Storytimes are on Mondays July 26 and August 2. No registration is necessary, but space is limited, so please arrive promptly. You can check out our flyers in the Children’s Room for additional details.

Please check the Library website www.gardencitypl.org for upcoming events and registration dates. Funding for these programs has been provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Priority for registration and participation is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
