Food Drive at the Garden City Pool

In conjunction with our Christmas in July celebration and in keeping with the holiday spirit, we will be conducting a food drive to benefit Island Harvest on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25 at the Garden City Pool. We will be collecting non-expired, non-perishable food items such as powdered milk, peanut butter, canned meat, soup and stews, cereal, fruit juices (shelf stable), tuna, pasta, rice, beans, baby food, and personal hygiene products. Financial contributions can also be made.

Friday Family Night

Don’t miss this week’s Friday Family Night, Friday, July 23rd for a night of Magic and Music. The fun starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Picnic Area with the Magic of John Reid. After the show, come pool side and enjoy your favorite songs from DJ Bob. Members and guests can enjoy Pizza Night at the Snack Bar starting at 7:00 p.m.

In addition, please mark your calendars for next weeks Friday Family Night, Friday July 30th. Members can enjoy our first Dance Party GCP and Snack Bar specials.

Christmas in July

Join us this Sunday, July 25th as we celebrate Christmas in July. Come enjoy holiday music and decorations, a visit by Santa and a special Christmas Bingo happening at 1:00 p.m. in the picnic area.

Movie of the Week

Join us this Tuesday, July 27th, as we will be showing “Fly me to the Moon in 3D”. The movie will start at 8:30 p.m. and the admission is $2 for members and $4 for guests. In case of inclement weather, please check our web site or call the Garden City Pool Office at (516) 483-1714 for further information. The rain date is Wednesday, July 28th. No refunds will be given, so please save your ticket stubs for the rain date.

Lifeguard Training Class

Just a reminder, that our Lifeguard Training Class pre-test will be this Tuesday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. Any pool members that are at least 15 years old can still register by visiting the Garden City Pool Office.

Pool Merchandise

Don’t forget to look great this summer with the latest pool merchandise. Visit the pool office to purchase towels, goggles, t-shirts, hats, water bottles, swim diapers, lanyards and much more!

Adult Water Aerobics

Once again our Water Aerobics class is being offered by Mary, our aerobics instructor. Classes will be offered for adults every Tuesday through Thursday in Pool 2. Join us for our 1:50 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. class. Advance sign up is not necessary for this class.

Teens and Tots

Story Hour

Run by the Garden City Library, children can enjoy their favorite stories read by volunteer Garden City teens! Join us Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. in the Picnic Area.

Arts and Crafts

Our Arts and Crafts program with Jackie and Clare returns once again this summer. This popular activity will be offered every Wednesday & Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Game Room Arts and Crafts program is available for members ages 4-8 only.

Early Bird Swim Club

There is still time to sign up for our Early Bird Swim Club! Pool members can sign up for this club at the Pool Office for an additional fee of $60.00. Once a member, you can swim laps in Pool 2 from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. GUESTS ARE NOT PERMITTED DURING EARLY BIRD HOURS.
