Annual Military Service Academy Event
Rep. McCarthy congratulates Steven Garger, a resident of Garden City and graduate of Chaminade High School, who will be attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy this summer.
Recently, Congresswoman McCarthy hosted her annual Military Service Academy Event to recognize and congratulate students who will be entering one of the military academies this summer.
Each year, Rep. McCarthy nominates students from throughout the Fourth Congressional District to attend one of the Military Academies. This year, three residents of Garden City received offers of appointment to attend a Military Academy and will begin their service there this summer.
Steven Garger, Glenn McKenna and Thomas Johnson are all residents of Garden City who have accepted an appointment to a Military Academy. Glenn attended Chaminade High School and will be leaving for Annapolis, Maryland to attend the U.S. Naval Academy this summer. Steven, also a graduate of Chaminade High School, will be attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Thomas attended Garden City High School and will be joining Steven at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

McCarthy. “I was proud to nominate Steven, Glenn and Thomas, and I congratulate them and their families for all of their hard work throughout this process. I look forward to hearing wonderful things about these three young men in the near future.”
