CONCERT AT GAZEBO
Once again, compliments are due to the Recreation Department for arranging the 2010 season’s outstanding Concert Series at the Village Gazebo, located on the Village Green at the corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues.
Next week’s program is scheduled for Thursday, July 22 and will feature Terry Nova Little Big Band.
The program will begin at 7:15 and admission is free. Please bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a very pleasant evening. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall at the St. Paul’s School. Please call the Recreation Department at 465-4075 with questions pertaining to the concert.
NOISE ORDINANCE
It is particularly distressing to see a few residents marring the beauty of our Village by not adhering to the Village Code as it relates to noise. Residents are reminded to inform landscape gardeners and construction workers of the laws which are frequently violated:
• Power gardening, lawn maintenance and building construction equipment may not be operated in the Village between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETINGS
The next Board of Trustees Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at Village Hall and will begin at 8:00 p.m. with a public hearing to hear comments regarding the St. Paul’s School Demolition for Additional Open Space Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS).
VILLAGE’S WEB SITE
I encourage residents to periodically utilize the Village’s website for information regarding the Village’s operations, as well as items of seasonal and special interest. The address is www.gardencityny.net. For your convenience, listed on the Village’s home page under the Heading of Administration is a link which lists the various Village Board and Commissions along with their meeting dates and agendas.
