th
the Garden City Retired Men’s Club enjoyed an informative discussion with Robert McMillan, former candidate for US Senate and former co-host of the television show Face-Off. Bob seized the opportunity to lock in the attention of his audience by an opening story, with appropriate photos, of his face-to-face meeting with Marilyn Monroe. Maintaining audience attention and participation was not a problem as he continued with a bit of personal philosophy and humor of his experiences with Asia Pacific Profit Center for Avon Products, Inc.; his endorsement for the US Senate by President Ronald Reagan; and his various meetings with Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Ford. He concluded with a short 101 course on ‘universal’ health care, leaving the audience with a feeling of ‘there is much to be learned about this complicated issue’. The members expected a lively discussion and Bob did not disappoint.
