Joe Leto, President Garden City Retired Men’s Club, Robert McMillan, and George Salem, Programs Director, Garden City Retired Men’s Club On Monday May 24 th the Garden City Retired Men’s Club enjoyed an informative discussion with Robert McMillan, former candidate for US Senate and former co-host of the television show Face-Off. Bob seized the opportunity to lock in the attention of his audience by an opening story, with appropriate photos, of his face-to-face meeting with Marilyn Monroe. Maintaining audience attention and participation was not a problem as he continued with a bit of personal philosophy and humor of his experiences with Asia Pacific Profit Center for Avon Products, Inc.; his endorsement for the US Senate by President Ronald Reagan; and his various meetings with Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Ford. He concluded with a short 101 course on ‘universal’ health care, leaving the audience with a feeling of ‘there is much to be learned about this complicated issue’. The members expected a lively discussion and Bob did not disappoint.
