NEW SENIOR TRIPS ANNOUNCED

The Recreation Department will again sponsor the following trips through Prime Time Travel. To reserve a seat on any or all of these trips, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue. Payment must accompany your reservation. All checks should be made payable to “Prime Time Travel”.

Thursday, April 29 - NYPD Tour of NYC - we will travel through the city visiting various sites important to the New York City Police Department as a retired NYC police officer acts as our tour guide. After the tour, we will have lunch in Little Italy’s SPQR. The cost of this trip is $83. To attend this trip, full payment must accompany your reservation and you must reserve by 3/5.

Tuesday, June 1 - Bronx Botanical Gardens - we will be taking a guided tour throughout the grounds and will visit the new exhibit inspired by the poet Emily Dickenson. After the tour, we will have lunch on Arthur Avenue and a little time to shop. The cost of this trip is $90. To attend this trip, a deposit of $30 must accompany your reservation, which must be made by 3/12.

Tuesday, June 22 - Visit Gurney’s Inn and Montauk - Enjoy lunch at Gurney’s Inn and then take a guided tour of the Montauk area, including the Lighthouse and Gosmans’ Dock as we enjoy a beautiful day out east. The cost of this trip is $68. To attend this trip, a deposit of $30 must accompany your reservation, which must be made by 3/12.

Tuesday, September 21 - Mohonk Mountain House - come spend the day at this National Historic Landmark. The cost of this trip is $97. To attend this trip, a deposit of $30 must accompany your reservation, which must be made by 4/6.

Thursday, October 14 - Tour Essex Connecticut by Train and Boat - we will first have lunch at the historic Griswolds’ Inn and have time to browse the quaint town before boarding an authentic steam train that will take us through Connecticut’s countryside. We will then board an enclosed boat and enjoy a cruised along the Connecticut River. The cost of this trip is $90.

To attend this trip, a deposit of $30 must accompany your reservation, which must be made by 4/6.

st. paul’s senior center hours

St. Paul’s Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seniors aged 60 and up who are residents of the Village of Garden City are invited to come and enjoy our facility. We are offering the following programs this week:

DANCE WORKSHOP III AT ADELPHI

The Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip to Adelphi University to see “Dance Workshop III”, a performance of new works by Adelphi students and faculty. Our trip will take place on Friday, May 7th at 11 am. The recreation bus will pick up the group at 10:15 am from St. Paul’s Senior Center and will return the group to the Senior Center when the performance is over. The cost of this trip will be $4.00. Please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue by Tuesday, May 4 to reserve a seat.
