A Long Tradition: CW members choose geraniums for the 1974 Bridge.
A Long Tradition: CW members choose geraniums for the 1974 Bridge. Thursday, May 20 is the date of the 50th Annual Geranium Bridge sponsored by the Cathedral organization. The event, co-chaired by Edythe Cox and Elinor Rees, will be held 12-30-4 pm in Cathedral House, 50 Cathedral Avenue in Garden City. Among bridge players, this event is an occasion not to be missed. This year the organizers invite those who wish to play other card games or board games to bring these along. A dessert treat is served with punch in the main room of Cathedral House. In keeping with a long tradition, the room will be decorated with potted pink geraniums that are for sale. There are opportunities to win lucky bucks and interesting door prizes. The prize table features a varied selection of treasures, from children’s picture books to gourmet foods and craft items. Reserve a table early by sending a check made payable to Cathedral Women’s Geranium Bridge for $16 per person to Mrs. Elinor Rees, 763 Emerson Avenue, Uniondale, NY 11553. (Telephone: 516-486-5168). Funds raised at the Bridge are used exclusively to further the Cathedral Women’s philanthropic endeavors.
